The best quarterback in the NFL season 2008-2009

I think the best way to judge the best pure quarterback in the NFL season is to have an elite quarterback and judged by its performance and its environs. Who did the best with a certain degree of talent in certain situations? We’ll have possibly the best five Quarterbacks in football, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers and Kurt Warner (Note two of the best Quarterbacks in the league, Tom Brady and Carson Palmer were injured last season). Now let’s look at the players around them and how well their actions against the stack of his companions.

Peyton Manning may very well be the best quarterback in the game. When you ask a fan to the question of who is the best, you will most likely hear the name Tom or Peyton. Manning had a slow start, but rebounded last year with very respectable numbers. Joseph Addai struggled a bit at times, requiring the provision of equipment to bring her back. However, Peyton has the luxury of one of the best offensive lines in football, which allows time to pick defenses apart. It also has one of the best wide receivers Reggie Wayne, not to mention Dallas Clark, the best pass catching tight end. It is undoubtedly a great strength, but I can not give you the title of best quarterback in the 2008-09 season.

Ben Roethlisberger may not have the gaudy numbers, but has a fresh, new, Super Bowl ring on his finger. Big Ben showed great strength to his team 88 yards in a game winning drive in the Super Bowl, something that players can only dream of doing. He is the best in terms of movement within and outside the pocket and shaking off defenders. Roethlisberger played behind a dismal offensive line all season. Hines Ward, Santoni Holmes, Heath Miller, and are its main objectives, a solid group. Ben is the kind of guy who presented striking statistics, but do the job. However, I simply can not say it was the best last season due to poor decision making, sometimes during the year.

Philip Rivers had his best year statistically and did battle with a LaDainian Tomlinson. He led the Chargers upset the Colts in the playoffs before falling to Pittsburgh in the second round. Go to the river type is Antonio Gates, who only had one decent year and also struggled with injuries like Tomlinson. Rios managed to put a large number of receivers as throwing Vincent Jackson and Chris Chambers, which are solid but nothing extraordinary.Rivers had a great year, but just does not do enough to stand out from the rest of the peloton.

Kurt Warner really shined last year, making its name in the hall of fame debates. Warner had a great statistical year and led the Cardinals to their Super Bowl. Although no one won, it did break records going into the game. Warner, once again solidified himself as a quarterback after the five last season.

To be fair, however, has the luxury of spending the best wide receiver in the game. Larry Fitzgerald dazzled fans during the regular season and playoffs, so it almost unstoppable. Complemented by the other side is Anquan boldinations, strong, tough receiver who is also one of the best in the game. Warner is great, no doubt, but he really has the best wide receiver tandem in football at his disposal.

The best of the season 2008-2009 Gold was Drew Brees. Brees nearly broke Dan Marino in passing yards, but that is not entirely why I chose him as the best man. Drew Brees was able to do so with a limited amount of talent. Marques Colston struggled with a toe injury throughout the season. Brees made Lance Moore look like a million dollars. No offense to Moore, is a solid receiver, but not Fitzgerald, Wayne, Holmes, Vincent Jackson, or even in my opinion. Brees does not have much of a running game to support him. Deuce McAllister was injured and spent his cousin, while Reggie Bush struggled to be a whole in the back. Brees’ top four targets were Lance Moore, Devery Henderson injured Marques Colston and tight end Billy Miller. With limited talent, he managed to put up ridiculous numbers and make an elite level, which is why I consider him the best quarterback of last season.
